The NIRSA Foundation proudly supports scholarly activity every year through the NIRSA Research Grant Program. Last year’s grant recipients included Dr. Leeann Lower of Ball State University; Dr. Anthony Patterson of North Carolina Central University; and Dr. Amy Rundio of East Carolina University. Previous years’ grant recipients and their project topics can be found on the NIRSA website. The NIRSA Research and Assessment Committee encourages members and non-members from NIRSA member institutions to submit their research grant applications from May 1–June 30.

Research projects should be focused on the areas stated within the newly-revised NIRSA Research Agenda. Additionally, grant proposals that focus on historically-underrepresented groups or those that involve multi-institutional collaboration at NIRSA member institutions will be given priority.

Two grants will be awarded for 2017: one for $10,000 and one for $2,000. Recipients are not required to be members but all research must be conducted at a NIRSA member institution. More information regarding grant requirements can be found in the 2017 NIRSA Research Grant Application Guidelines.
