Financial Assistance through Scholarships & Grants

The NIRSA Foundation is dedicated to the personal and professional development of NIRSA members.

Committed to the future of campus recreation, the NIRSA Foundation proudly offers a variety of scholarships to ensure NIRSA’s premier educational events are accessible for all NIRSA students and professionals. Members at all stages of their career benefit from learning, innovating, and networking experiences at these events.

In today’s difficult economic climate, financial assistance for professional development is more important than ever before. The NIRSA Foundation’s scholarship program affords professional growth opportunities for the field’s leading students and professionals by minimizing the costs of event registration and travel.

Scholarships for the NIRSA Family are possible thanks to NIRSA Foundation donors. The NIRSA Foundation proudly supports the future leaders of campus rec.

Information regarding 2018 Scholarship & Travel Stipend applications will be available in August 2017.

  1. Login to Abstract Manager using your NIRSA login information.
  2. Verify that your NIRSA profile is up to date.
  3. Once you are on the Submissions homepage, click on “My Proposals and Applications.”
  4. From the available events options, select the “2017 Foundation STU & PROF Scholarship, & Travel Stipend” option to start your NIRSA Foundation Scholarship or Travel Stipend application.

Travel Grants for Professionals

NIRSA Foundation Travel Grantpresented by CORE Health & Fitness, allows NIRSA professional members the opportunity to advance their careers in campus recreation without shouldering the expenses of travel and lodging. The $1,000 (USD) grant is specifically designed to cover travel expenses associated with attending the NIRSA Annual Conference and Campus Rec & Wellness Expo. Travel grants are available to NIRSA professional members and are possible because of corporate sponsorship.
