Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the NIRSA National Soccer Championships.
Through regular communication, the NIRSA Championship Series National Soccer Championships Tournament Experience and Logistics leads a group of volunteer NIRSA members to provide premier championship experiences delivered by qualified experts within a safe and inclusive environment.
- Serve as a positive brand ambassador for the NIRSA Championship Series
- Maintain a current NIRSA professional membership for the duration of the position term
- Attend monthly tournament planning meetings
- Communicate regularly with the NIRSA Championship Series executive team and NIRSA headquarters staff
- Complete post-event reports by the established deadline
- Review staff applications and make selection recommendations as needed
- Maintain availability during the entirety of the event
- Uphold the principles, purpose, and promise of the NIRSA Championship Series
- Uphold NIRSA’s Code of Ethics
- Act as a support system for functional areas of tournament administration throughout the tournament.
- Provide oversight and supervision of all field marshalls, including hosting an orientation before the first day of tournament play
- Ensure an enhanced volunteer experience, including volunteer schedule management and staff morale
- Work with the Coordinator for National Sport Programs to plan and execute tournament registration for all teams to register and verify rosters
- Provide oversight and ensure execution of assessment plans
- Prepare all game sheets for tournament games
- Input, track, and post scores from all games played throughout the tournament
- Work with the Director and Assistant Director of Officials to ensure all officials are eligible to work and are paid for all games worked; additionally, track all games worked by the staff of officials
- Track player statistics, including sporting behavior concerns
- Provide information that allows for the selection of All-Tournament participants
- Prepare championship game scripts for presentation before all championship games
- Work with the Director and Assistant Director of Operations to ensure execution of volunteer appreciation reception upon completion of tournament play
- Serve on Protest/Appeals Committee
- All other duties as assigned by tournament directors
Requirements
Tournament Experience and Logistics Required Experiences:
- Prior experience volunteering at a NIRSA state, regional, or national tournament
- Completed undergraduate degree
- Commitment to four-year term, the final of which you will serve as a Director
Preferred Experiences
- Experience leading a diverse group of professionals and facilitating effective meetings
- Prior experience as a tournament or committee director at a NIRSA state or regional tournament
- Demonstrated experience in administrative tournament management, host committees, and/or volunteer management.
- Have experience in IMLeagues.com administration and roster management.
Time Commitment
The NIRSA Championship Series National Soccer Championships Tournament Experience and Logistics is expected to attend monthly tournament planning meetings and to be on site for the duration of the tournament.
Term Length
Terms for the NIRSA Championship Series National Soccer Championships Tournament Experience and Logistics are four years and run from January 15 through March 15.
