The NIRSA National Soccer Championships consist of divisions within Women’s Open, Men’s Open, Women’s Championship, and Men’s Championship. Regional Championships tournament winners are awarded automatic bids.
Open Division – Lottery Registration
The Open Division will consist of 24 men’s and 24 women’s teams. Teams will be decided through a lottery system. Four teams from each region will be selected and the remaining teams from each region will be drawn and added to a waitlist. If fewer than four teams register in a region by the deadline, remaining slots will be allocated to waitlisted teams from other regions. Institutions are limited to one team per division.
Teams with membership in a NIRSA affiliated league or a minimum of four games played prior to the National Championship are qualified to enter the lottery for their region.
Lottery Registration will be via IMLeagues and begin on Monday, September 22 at 9:00am Eastern / 6:00am Pacific and will close on Sunday, September 28.
The lottery draw is scheduled for October 8 at 12:00pm Eastern / 9:00am Pacific.
Selected teams must complete registration and payment by October 14 at 8:00pm Eastern / 5:00pm Pacific.Teams choosing to participate in the lottery that are selected and do not complete the registration process by the deadline, will not be allowed to participate in the 2026 Lottery. Please only participate in the lottery if your team is committed to attending the 2025 NIRSA National Soccer Championships and has the financial means to do so.
All players must be listed on your team’s IMLeagues roster and must complete all required forms within the platform. Enrollment verification forms require signatures from the players, the Sport Club Director, and the University Registrar. These forms will be available to fill out starting October 8.
Championship Division – Lottery Registration
The Championship Division will consist of 24 men’s and 24 women’s teams. Teams must qualify for the Championship Division by qualifying through their regional tournament (see qualifying standards).
