Through regular communication, the NIRSA Championship Series National Soccer Championships Operations Committee works to provide premier championship experiences delivered by qualified experts within a safe and inclusive environment.
- Through regular communication, work with a group of NIRSA members to provide premier championship experiences delivered by qualified experts within a safe and inclusive environment
- Serve as a positive brand ambassador for the NIRSA Championship Series
- Maintain a current NIRSA professional membership for the duration of the position term
- Attend monthly tournament planning meetings
- Communicate regularly with the NIRSA Championship Series executive team and NIRSA Staff
- Complete post-event reports by the established deadline
- Review staff applications and make selection recommendations as needed
- Maintain availability during the entirety of the event
- Uphold the principles, purpose, and promise of the NIRSA Championship Series
- Uphold NIRSA’s Code of Ethics
- Assist in contacting local vendors to schedule, plan, and provide all meals provided for NIRSA staff and officials
- Assist in the preparation of all logistical needs for the tournament
- Work with the host site to secure an emergency action plan for the facility and educate all event staff on standard operating procedures
- Ensure daily inspection of all fields for playability and safety; work with the host site to improve line marking, safety, or equipment concerns
- Assist in oversight of the operating budget
- Assist in site set up before the tournament to meet NIRSA brand standards and expectations
- Work with operations staff to set up and teardown fields and hospitality each day of the tournament
- Assist in managing, training, and scheduling committee members
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Operations or tournament director
Requirements
Required Experiences:
- Prior experience volunteering at a NIRSA state, regional, or national tournament
- Completed undergraduate degree
- Commitment to three-year term, the first of which you will serve as an assistant director
Preferred Experiences
- Experience leading a diverse group of professionals and facilitating effective meetings
- Prior experience as a tournament or committee director at a NIRSA state or regional tournament
- Demonstrated experience in facility operations or special events
Time Commitment
The NIRSA Championship Series National Soccer Championships Operations Committee volunteers are expected to attend monthly tournament planning meetings and to be on site for the duration of the tournament.
Term Length
Operations Committee terms for the NIRSA Championship Series National Soccer Championships are three years and run from January 15 through March 15.
