Institutional Registrations

The NIRSA Championship Series an event known not only for its outstanding student athlete performance but also for the development of its student officials and professional staff. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to send one of your own student officials and professional staff to this year’s NIRSA National Flag Football Championship through Institutional Registration.

Some of the benefits include but are not limited to exclusive student official training materials for the official to share with his or her university and department, an online, live-stream game for one participating university team, and recognition at the NIRSA Annual Conference. The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 1.

“The experience…provided me a platform to help educate my students.”

The University of Central Florida’s Gold Institutional Registration allowed Matthew Dunigan, a professional staff member at UCF, to work last year’s tournament. He says that this experience “not only helped develop me professionally, but provided me a platform to help educate my students—both those in attendance and those back on campus. The educational information that I gained by being directly involved in running a national tournament provided tools for sustaining interested student employees in the field. It is my hope more universities see the value of institutional registration to provide opportunities for young professionals, like myself, to continue to developing themselves, their rec programs, and, most importantly, the students they oversee.”

“[It] generated new ideas for officials’ trainings and special event implementation within our own program.”

The University of Florida, another university who took advantage of the Gold Institutional Registration, was able to send Marty Dempsey. Marty explains, “Having the opportunity to serve on staff at the NIRSA Flag Football National Championships was an extremely valuable experience for my professional development. The ability to interact and network with staff, participants, and officials from unique programs across the country has generated new ideas for officials’ trainings and special event implementation within our own program.”

The NIRSA Championship Series would like to recognize and thank those institutions who have already renewed their flag football institutional registrations:

  • University of Southern Mississippi—Gold
  • Georgia Southern University—Silver
  • University of Central Florida—Bronze
  • Louisiana State University—Bronze
