NIRSA club basketball team registration launches September 3

Basketball clubs have seen tremendous growth over the last several years.

NIRSA has been no exception to this trend; in 2012, 103 of the 246 teams who competed in the NIRSA National Basketball Championships were club teams.

As we strongly believe in providing students with the best opportunities for competition, professional development, and fair play, this increase in the presence of club basketball teams affords us a unique opportunity to expand on the current NIRSA Championship Series Basketball structure. Therefore, the NIRSA Championship Series is pleased to announce that NIRSA Club Basketball league registration will open on Tuesday, September 3 at 8:00am PST.

Basketball clubs have seen tremendous growth over the last several years.

All registration and league scheduling will be managed through www.IMLeagues.com/NIRSA. At the time of registration, team captains will need only to pay their team fee and provide contact information. Once the registration period ends, teams will be placed within a division in their region; they will then be notified by the League Commissioner about scheduling information, such as game play and deadlines. All players must join their school’s team through the registration site to be eligible to play.

Club Basketball League fees will include the costs associated with administering the league, insurance, and, for league champions, regional entry fees and travel stipends. Clubs will be responsible for official’s fees at each round-robin event.

Regular Rate NIRSA Institutional Members	$525	September 14-October 1
Regular Rate Non-NIRSA Intuitional Members*	$625	September 14-October 1
*All teams will pay the NIRSA Institutional Member rate upon registration. Teams who are from non-NIRSA Institutions will be charged an additional $100 after they are registered.
