The DUPR Regional Championships have come to a close and the 2023 DUPR Collegiate National Championships are just around the corner.

Thirty-six universities are preparing to send teams to compete November 17-19 in Atlanta, Georgia, so let’s recap this fall’s regional competitions:

Utah Regional Championship (September 9-10)

Seven universities competed in South Jordan, Utah for two bids to the DUPR 2023 Collegiate National Championship. The University of Utah, Utah Valley University, Rick’s College, and Northwest Nazarene University debuted in their first DUPR league tournament and battled it out with the three returning schools of Utah Tech, Utah State, and Grand Canyon University.

Though the competition was fierce, Utah Tech claimed a third straight Regional Championship.

Texas Regional Championship (September 16-17)

The second fall regional championship took place in Humble, Texas and Texas Christian University emerged victorious among six universities. This bracket consisted of nearly all in-state schools, including Texas A&M, the University of Houston, and the University of Texas at Austin. Florida State University traveled across state lines to compete and took second place.

Florida Regional Championship (September 23-24)

Boca Raton, Florida hosted seventeen universities from across four states for the Florida Regional Championships. It was the largest regional tournament of the year, with over 100 collegiate players competing for the $2,000 first-place scholarship prize money.

Though the rain caused a few delays, Florida Atlantic University won the overall competition.

Michigan Regional Championship (September 30 – October 1)

Michigan’s Regional Championship brought a lot of excitement among teams as both semifinals came down to Dreambreaker tiebreak scenarios. Eleven schools competed in Rochester Hills, Michigan, including Virginia Tech, Ohio State, and the University of Michigan. With a 3-0 victory in the finals, Indiana University emerged with a first-place finish.

Nevada Regional Championship (October 7-8)

With the close of the 2023 Regionals, nine schools competed for the last few championship bids in Henderson, Nevada. Utah Tech took first place, with the school’s two teams competing against each other in the final round. Joining Utah Tech are the University of California San Diego, Grand Canyon University, and the University of Arizona who have all secured bids to compete at the 2023 DUPR Collegiate National Championships.
