NIRSA Elections

The NIRSA membership votes annually, via electronic elections, to fill positions on the NIRSA Board of Directors and the Member Network as well as on any proposed amendments to NIRSA’s Bylaws. Elections for the Member Network (which consists of both professional and student representatives) take place in two stages – the elections for professional positions, which concluded January 27, and the elections for student positions, which will take place March 3-6, 2026. The 2026 March elections will also include the opportunity to vote on three amendments to NIRSA’s bylaws.

Member Network regional committees reviewed the applications for student positions and are proud to present the following slate of candidates.

NIRSA Student Leader

Bryce Baker, Butler University

Region II Student Leader

Matthew Petrie, Georgia Southern University

Keegan Sheffler, West Virginia University

Region III Student Leader

Sarah Messing, Bowling Green State University

Region IV Student Leader

Alison Stapp, University of North Texas

Region V Student Leader

Lisca de Jager, University of Colorado Boulder

Region VI Student Leader

Bailey Crone, University of Nevada Las Vegas

Canadian Student Leader

Simran Lally, University of the Fraser Valley

With Member Network support, NIRSA is continuing to recruit candidates for the Region I Student Leader position, with the goal of appointing someone to the position by the time the current Region I Student Leader’s term ends on April 30. Please contact Natasha Fischer, NIRSA Member Engagement Manager, if you know of someone who would be a good fit for this role on NIRSA’s Student Leadership Team.

NIRSA utilizes an electronic voting platform operated by Yes Elections. Please make sure your membership is active and your member profile is updated with your preferred email address so you can exercise your opportunity to vote!

All current professional, professional life, student, and emeritus members are allowed to vote on the bylaw amendments. Student members are also able to vote for both NIRSA Student Leader and the Regional Student Leader in their region.

Only members whose NIRSA membership is active at 8:00am Pacific on March 2 will receive a ballot. Please log in to your NIRSA profile before March 2 to verify that your membership is current to ensure that you receive your ballot.
