The Student Staff Development Task Force supports campus recreation professionals who manage student employees. As one of the largest employers on college campuses, recreation departments shoulder an important role in the growth and development of their student employees. The task force develops resources and learning opportunities for students and their professional supervisors who are involved in this work on their campuses.
Requirements
Current NIRSA professional or student membership is required for the duration of the committee appointment.
Time Commitment
The Committee meets for one hour each month for the majority of the year; some asynchronous/small group work is also expected for a few hours each month
Committee Composition/Term Length
The Committee is composed of 12 members, with overlapping two year terms. Two of the 12 members (who have already completed their first year as a member) serve as co-chairs. The committee meets once a month for an hour as a full group, with an additional 1-2 hours per month of small-group meetings as needed for projects.
