Thank you for your interest in volunteering at a NIRSA Regional Basketball Championships. The lineup for spring tournaments is:
- February 12-14 @ SUNY Cortland
- February 26-28 @ University of Maryland
- February 19-21 @ Georgia Southern University
- February 19-21 @ Michigan State University
- February 12-14 @ University of Missouri – Columbia
- February 19-21 @ University of Texas at Austin
- February 26-28 @ University of Nebraska – Lincoln
The NIRSA Championship Series Regional Basketball Tournament Experience Committees assist in providing premier championship experiences delivered by qualified experts within a safe and inclusive environment.
- Serve as a positive brand ambassador for the NIRSA Championship Series
- Communicate regularly with the NIRSA Championship Series Executive Team and NIRSA Staff
- Attend tournament planning meetings and on-site meetings as required
- Maintain availability during the entirety of the event
- Uphold the principles, purpose, and promise of the NIRSA Championship Series
- Uphold NIRSA’s Code of Ethics
- Serve as a liaison between players and tournament administration with strategic focus on the participant experience
- Track of player statistics including sportsmanship concerns
- Provide information that allows for the selection of All-Tournament participants
- Assist in the presentation of all-tournament awards
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Tournament Operations or Tournament Director
Requirements
Committee Requirements:
- Current NIRSA individual membership for the duration of the position term
Preferred Experiences
- Prior experience as a tournament or committee director at a NIRSA state or regional tournament
- Completed undergraduate degree
Time Commitment
The NIRSA Championship Series Regional Basketball Championships Tournament Experience Committee volunteers are to be available for the duration of their tournament.
Term Length
Tournament Experience Committee terms for the NIRSA Championship Series National Basketball Championships are one year and run from June 1 through May 31.
