How to Get Involved
The regional Nominations & Appointments Committees recruit nominees, reviews applications and supporting materials, and determines the slate of candidates for the Member Network Regional Representatives. For the 2027 elections, there is one position available for Regional Representatives in each of the following NIRSA Regions: I, III, V, and Canada.
Application forms will be available July 16, 2026, and are due August 24, 2026. A resume and completed Institutional Support Form are required when submitting the application.
The committees will slate up to two candidates for each Regional Representative position.
Those applicants that are slated to stand for election will have their written application materials posted on the website, for review by the membership, exactly as received by the committee. Therefore, it is in each candidate’s best interest to seek out peer-reviewed feedback on issues of grammar and clarity. If desired, slated candidates will have the opportunity to request NIRSA editing assistance, which consists of a basic grammar review, before their information is posted on the website.
The final slate of candidates will be approved by the current NIRSA Board and announced to the membership in mid-December. Electronic elections will occur January 12-25, 2027.
