The Golf Tournament Committee is responsible for planning and facilitating the related preconference event at NIRSA Conferences. To ensure the success of the tournament, this committee reviews past event evaluations and makes recommendations for improvements the following year. Committee members plan tournament details including sponsorships, games, logistics, swag, and prizes; additionally, they serve as volunteers on the day of the event during the NIRSA Conference.
Requirements
Some knowledge of golf is preferred but not required. A strong network of corporate members and director-level professionals is highly beneficial, as most participants fall within these groups. This role involves numerous requests for prizes, teams, sponsorships, and related support, so confidence in making these asks and the ability to provide timely follow-up are essential.
Time Commitment
The committee meets monthly with planning and execution occurring September through April. As the tournament gets closer, the time commitment may increase.
Term Length
Committee terms are one year.
