Committee members work closely with NIRSA’s Director of Philanthropy and Foundation Coordinator, whose role is to support NIRSA members in peer-to-peer fundraising, to identify and foster prospects, and to communicate opportunities to young professionals. This committee is also responsible for the Foundation’s annual Big Dill Pickleball Tournament held at NIRSA Conferences. Responsibilities include recruiting players, sponsors, prizes, logistics, etc. This committee is mentored by a Foundation Board Member.
Requirements
Current NIRSA professional or student membership is required for the duration of the committee term. Must be within the first seven years of a professional role in campus recreation. The volunteer should be willing to learn about philanthropy and actively participate in fundraising efforts that support the NIRSA Foundation. This role includes playing a key part in planning and executing the Big Dill Pickleball Tournament at the NIRSA Conference. Additionally, the volunteer will contribute ideas, energy, and creativity to help enhance the Foundation’s presence among early career professionals.
Time Commitment
The Committee meets for one hour each month. Additional meetings may be needed as the NIRSA Conference approaches.
Term Length
Committee terms are one year.
