The Bylaws Committee solicits and receives ideas and suggestions regarding potential Bylaws changes from the membership, Board of Directors, and committees; drafts proposed changes for legal review and rationale for member review; uses a variety of platforms (electronic and in-person) and engages the Member Network and appropriate leadership groups to gather member feedback regarding proposed Bylaws changes; and submits the proposed Bylaws changes to Board of Directors for approval and member vote.
Requirements
Current individual NIRSA membership is required for the duration of the committee appointment.
Time Commitment
One or two meetings monthly, with some asynchronous work, together totaling up to 3-4 hours/month. The majority of the work takes place between July and December.
Term Length
Committee terms run from May 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027.
