Foster connection, community, and collective growth around key areas of campus recreation; facilitate a NIRSA Cohort Collective.
Through small, topic-based, intentional group discussions, members can strengthen professional relationships, share knowledge and best practices, and collaborate on common challenges and goals with colleagues from across the profession.
As a facilitator, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Build your facilitation and leadership skills
- Expand your professional network and make meaningful connections
- Learn alongside peers and hear perspectives from across the profession
- Practice guiding conversations and creating space for others to share
- Get involved with NIRSA through a short-term, manageable volunteer opportunity
Facilitators don’t need to be subject matter experts. Facilitators will help guide the conversation, while cohort members bring their own experiences, questions, and ideas to the group. NIRSA will provide resources and support along the way.
This year’s Cohort Collective will include cohorts for Early Career Professionals, Mid-Level Managers, Aspiring Directors, Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, Facilities & Operations, Fitness, Outdoor Recreation, Aquatics, and Student Development & Student Employment.
Time Commitment
NIRSA will provide resources and support along the way, while you’ll have the opportunity to build your facilitation and leadership skills, expand your network, and learn alongside other NIRSA members.
You will facilitate a total of six, hour-long online conversations; one per month during your term.
Term Length
Terms run from October 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027.
