Join the Precon Adventure!

This year’s attendees have the choice between two great preconference offerings. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center offers attendees a chance to explore over 800,000 gallons of one of the best aquariums and animal habitats in the country—experience hands-on exhibits, nature path, and marshlands, with 10,000 animals to see.

The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium offers a chance to experience nature from new heights! The Park has an eco-friendly zip line and aerial adventure experience in the trees above the scenic Owls Creek. “Zip” across challenge bridges that climbers navigate to get from one platform to the next.

For both activities, we will depart from the Host Hotel promptly at 1:30pm and return around 6:00pm. Lunch will be on your own, but dinner will be included! Cost is $60.

Registration for these two outstanding precons is limited—so don’t delay and reserve your spot today!

If you’ve already registered but would like to add a precon to your registration, please reach out to NIRSA’s Billing Coordinator, Rachel Hart at 541-368-5853.

Sport Governing Bodies

NIRSA is hoping to grow Sport Governing Body participation in the 2017 Collegiate Sport Club Institute and will be inviting Governing Bodies to share the following with Institute attendees: their goals, rules and policies, student development practices, budget information, league and national tournament information, current practices in risk management, levels of communication, and student expectations.

It was a great opportunity to put faces with the names of people I’ve been working with for years.

Sandy Sanderson, CollClubSports

This was a great opportunity to network with the club sports administrators I work with on a daily basis. Allowed our organization to get personal feedback on the job we’re doing and how we can make our sport and interactions with their departments even better.

Ty Krajec, USA Ultimate

It was great to meet the club sport representatives and share information about my organization.

I took 3 of our Sport Club Executive Board (all students), this was a great experience for them. They came away with a greater appreciation for Sport Clubs and they are FULL of ideas on ways to improve our program.

Jean Holt, Old Dominion University

The Sport Club Institute is a great way to learn about the profession we love and network with colleagues and friends to make Sport Clubs better on our campuses. The Institute is great for young and experienced professionals and would be great for students to see what Sport Clubs have in store.

Mario Rios, The University of Texas at San Antonio

This was a great opportunity to network with the club sports administrators I work with on a daily basis. Allowed our organization to get personal feedback on the job we’re doing and how we can make our sport and interactions with their departments even better.

Ty Krajec, USA Ultimate

I love the small, tight knit community at the Sport Club Institute. It’s much easier to network in a smaller setting where everyone can relate to sport clubs. I really felt part of the NIRSA family at the 2015 NIRSA Collegiate Sport Clubs Institute.
