About the NIRSA Assembly

Made up of NIRSA professional and student members, as well as non-NIRSA members, the Assembly serves as a catalyst for new thinking and meaningful action across campuses and the broader recreation industry.

Resources that highlight the Assembly’s recent projects can be found in NIRSA Learning.

How to Get Involved

Assembly members are selected for their unique perspective, experiences, and passion for advancing collegiate recreation. Each year Assembly members focus on a set of NIRSA Board approved, future focused topics identified to be critical to the field.

Assembly members:

  • Participate in peer discussions
  • Investigate approved topics by exploring challenges, research what’s working and identifying opportunities.
  • Contribute insights that surface new perspectives and benefit the broader NIRSA community.

The Assembly shares its work through avenues such as educational sessions at the NIRSA Conference & Expo and regional conferences, developing resource guides, writing NIRSA news articles, and facilitating conversations in the NIRSA Connect Community.

Being part of the Assembly is an opportunity to grow as a leader, connect with colleagues across the profession, and contribute meaningfully to NIRSA’s vision for the future.
