NIRSA institutional and individual membership dues rates are set to increase by 3% on Tuesday, July 1. The increase is consistent with NIRSA Bylaws, which state that the Board of Directors determines annual dues for institutional, professional, professional life, and student membership categories.
NIRSA’s volunteer leaders and Association staff recognize that costs continue to increase across the board, and that college and university campuses—regardless of division or department—are feeling the squeeze caused by increasing costs and funding shortfalls. As the Association continues the work outlined in the 2024–2027 NIRSA Strategic Framework and the strategic priorities described in the latest Member Town Hall, we invite members to explore how the Association continues to bring value to members and the communities you serve.
One way NIRSA recently increased the value of membership was to include complimentary access to webinars with institutional membership. For individuals in new roles or overseeing new areas, NIRSA has virtual asynchronous courses in key functional areas as well as the campus rec essentials book series. Professional and student members can now access an expanded roster of virtual roundtables in several different topic areas.
Under the updated dues rates, students will pay $2 more for a year’s membership dues in 2025 than they did in 2024; professionals will see a $4 to $5 increase to the cost of dues. Colleges and universities—depending on the size and makeup of their campus—will see costs increase between $11 and $61 to keep membership current after July 1.
Stretch your professional development dollars!
Institutions trying to maximize unspent funds before the end-of-fiscal-year accounting takes place can also save 5%–10% on institutional, professional, and student membership dues by leveraging multi-year renewal discounts. Renewing for more than one year will help you stretch your budget and ensure uninterrupted access to critical resources and networks.
When you renew your membership before Monday, July 1, a year of membership will be tacked on to your existing expiration date at the current 2024 rates.
You can renew online or print a renewal form for your individual or institutional membership and mail it in with your preferred form of payment. If you wish to pay with a credit card number over the phone, please leave us a message at (541) 766-8211 and we will contact you to find the fastest and easiest way to keep you inside the NIRSA network.
