The learning and skill development that is the focal point of sessions and workshops happening at NIRSA 2025 in Orlando will be nicely balanced by the open and fun atmosphere found during the legendary networking socials that are synonymous with NIRSA Conferences.

Social events open to all conference attendees and exhibitor representatives are happening Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, after education session blocks end and the expo hall turns off the lights. And everyone is invited to start off the final day of the conference with an all new Awards Reception.

All Conference Social on Wednesday, April 23

Start NIRSA 2025 on a high note as we celebrate 75 years of NIRSA at the All Conference Social, sponsored by SportsArt with activities provided by Grit ‘N Wit and PlayTech Interactive. This lively event will happen at the Gaylord Palms’ Mangrove Lawn and Southern Beach Pool from 6:00pm until 9:00pm on Wednesday. Soak in the beautiful Florida atmosphere, move to the rhythm of the DJ’s music, and engage with your NIRSA community in a relaxed setting. Tasty hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages will be on hand, and attendees can also opt to purchase a variety of craft beers and signature cocktails.

Founders People of Color Social on Thursday, April 24

Block out 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Thursday evening for the Founders People of Color Social, sponsored by Life Fitness and PLAE, happening at the Gaylord Palms’ Coastal Lobby. Open to all attendees and exhibiting company representatives at NIRSA 2025, this is a wonderful chance to honor achievements and build community. The event will recognize the outstanding contributions of NIRSA members through initiatives such as the Emerging Recreational Sports Leaders Conference, the HBCU Summit, the Founders Scholarship, and the Juliette Moore Distinguished Leadership Award.

Light refreshments will be available, and attendees can also opt to purchase a variety of craft beers and signature cocktails.

LGBTQ & Allies Social on Friday, April 25

A beloved annual tradition, the LGBTQ & Allies Social is a welcoming space to connect and champion belonging within NIRSA. Sponsored by Life Fitness and PLAE, this uplifting event takes place at the Gaylord Palms’ Expo Hall Lobby C on Friday, from 5:30pm until 7:00pm. Each year, this gathering fosters connection and comradery among LGBTQ individuals and allies while celebrating the recipients of the Fredrick R. Braden Scholarship for Social Justice. All event attendees and exhibitor representatives are invited to join us in cultivating an environment of diversity and inclusion!

NIRSA Championship Series “Thank You” Social on Friday, April 25

Cap off the evening in the Citrus Ballroom by celebrating the incredible individuals behind the NIRSA Championship Series. Sponsored by Risk Strategies, The Champ Series “Thank You” Social takes place on Friday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. This special evening will highlight the efforts of the dedicated hosts, volunteer staff, and committee members serving the NIRSA Championship Series, while honoring recipients of the Sarah Fain Distinguished Service Award and The Series’ Hall of Fame awards. All event attendees and exhibitor representatives are invited to celebrate the Champ Series community with an evening of inspiration, connection, and appreciation.

NEW: Awards Reception on Saturday, April 26

Although not a traditional “social” event like the ones listed above, the new Awards Reception will happen on Saturday morning from 8:30am to 10:00am in Osceola CD/Stage of the Gaylord Palms. This special event is open to all conference attendees and exhibitor representatives as their chance to pay tribute to NIRSA’s award recipients, highlighting their contributions to NIRSA and the profession of campus recreation. Come learn more about the great work being done on campuses across North America and help us pay tribute to Suzi Smith, who will be receiving NIRSA’s highest accolade during the presentation of the NIRSA Honor Award, sponsored by Mondo.
