I hope you enjoy this first entry in my “You Matter” series. I’ll be sharing interviews with you all as part of this series over the course of my year as Chair of the NIRSA Championship Series. Check out these two interviews with a focus on soccer!
Jessica Cuadra
I sit down with Soccer Work Team Co-Chair Jessica Cuadra to discuss her volunteer journey as well as her passion for the game. Jessica shares how her love for soccer began at an early age and how she became involved with NIRSA through volunteering at regional tournaments during college. Her dedication and leadership have only grown over the years, and she now plays a key role in organizing the NIRSA Championship Series Soccer National Tournament. Jessica discusses how the sense of community and teamwork that is pervasive in NIRSA Soccer fuels her passion for the sport and motivates her to contribute to its growth.
Evan Williams and Max Anders
I chat with Evan Williams and Max Anders, both members of the University of Oregon Men’s Soccer Club team. Evan and Max were both encouraged by loved ones—family and friends—to try out for the team. Both say that trying out and subsequently playing for the team is the best decision they’ve made as undergraduate students at the University of Oregon. Check out the interview to learn more about their experiences playing club soccer!
