The 2023 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo is the premier event for campus recreation professionals. NIRSA 2023 will feature learning opportunities, socials, awards celebrations, facility tours, fitness classes, a Career Services Center, networking opportunities, and an exceptional expo. Mainstage speakers
Each day of NIRSA 2023 will kick off with an unopposed mainstage speaker you won’t want to miss!
Smiley Poswolsky will kick things off on Friday, March 24 at 8:30am with his session “The Power of Human Connection: How Leaders Can Build Belonging in a Disconnected Workplace.” Smiley will share how we can attract, retain, and engage the next generation of talent, increase team connection, and create more belonging by building supportive communities inside the workplace.
Jeffrey James Binney’s unexpected path to ultrarunning taught him how to persevere and finish hard things. In his session, “Resilience: Being Smart Enough to Start, Dumb Enough Not to Quit,” he will inspire attendees to stop procrastinating, “do the thing,” and—most importantly—cross the finish line! Jeffrey will take the mainstage on Saturday, March 25 at 9:30am.
Dr. Kate Steiner will present “Embracing Burnout” on the mainstage on Sunday, March 26 at 8:30am. Dr. Steiner helps students and professionals embrace burnout in order to become more resourceful and resilient, so they can live happier, healthier lives. She will introduce attendees to a self-reflective process used to create a personalized sustainability and wellness plan.
