The Registry of Collegiate Recreation Sports Professionals (RCRSP) is for collegiate recreation professionals who set high standards in the field through their continued education and professional involvement. The Registry emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and continual professional development by providing recognition of collegiate recreational sports as a competency-based profession, setting as standard of excellence for collegiate recreation professionals.
The NIRSA Professional Registry Commission is dedicated to ensuring that the Registry is serving rec professionals to the best of its abilities—and it is now recruiting for an At-Large and a Faculty Representative. Applications are available online.
As a member of the Commission, you will partner with NIRSA’s Professional Development Department to manage the policies, standards, application and renewal review concerns and other matters pertaining to the Registry. Additionally, you will play an important role in the effort to help educate the membership on the integration of NIRSA’s Core Competencies into their professional learning plans. On request, the Commission supports special projects from the NIRSA Board of Directors and is critical to the advancement of the Professional Registry Program.
Commissioners are appointed to three-year terms. Currently, there are two seats open for the 2016–2019 term—one open seat, which can be filled by any NIRSA professional member who meets the eligibility requirements, and one faculty member in recreation or an allied field who may or may not be a NIRSA professional member.
If you are a current member of the RCRSP and wish to contribute to NIRSA’s strategic goal “to be the primary resource for leadership and professional development in collegiate recreation, offering invaluable materials, events, and networking opportunities for individuals in all stages of their career,” please submit your application to become a Professional Registry Commissioner by April 29.
