The 2015 NIRSA Aquatic Institute Committee is pleased to announce that attorney Shawn P. DeRosa will be the aquatics featured speaker at the 2015 NIRSA Triventure, which is taking place in Indianapolis from October 14–16! Shawn will be presenting two education sessions at the institute; “Hot Topics in Collegiate Aquatics” will take place on Thursday, October 15 from 9:45am–10:45am while “Water Quality 101: A Practical Approach to Sanitation, Oxidation and Water Balance” will occur on Friday, October 16 from 8:00am–9:00am.
Shawn is a nationally-recognized expert in aquatic safety who is currently serving as the Director of Aquatics and as a safety officer for campus recreation at Pennsylvania State University. Before joining Penn State, Shawn worked as the Aquatics Coordinator for the entire Massachusetts State Park System, overseeing aquatic programming at 66 different aquatic facilities with over 500 lifeguards. Through his consulting company DeRosa Aquatic Consulting Shawn offers educational programs and services that combine his legal background with his experience managing diverse aquatic facilities.
