The 2015 NIRSA Annual Conference will bring over 2,500 NIRSA members together in the spirit of “Moving Our Values Forward.” The conference will take place in Grapevine, Texas from March 30–April 2—and attendees have a lot to look forward to at the 2015 Recreational Sports Expo!
Whether you enter the Expo Hall with the intention of engaging with over 160 exhibitors or simply to pick up your attendee bag from the NIRSA booth, you’ll quickly discover it’s where you’ll want to stay and play! The only problem will be figuring out where to start.
The Expo Hall will open on Tuesday, March 31 at 6:00pm. Opening night will feature appetizers and a cash bar, so grab a plate before making your way to the NIRSA Foundation Hoop Shoot—sponsored by ECORE Athletic, Porter Athletic, BSN Sports, and the Referee Training Academy—to test your skills at the free throw line. A $1 donation will earn you 45 seconds to shoot as many free throws as possible. On the final day of the Expo, $100 cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female shooter.
On your way to the NIRSA Foundation Hoop Shoot, you may be a little distracted by all of the fun taking place at the Bubble Bump Soccer Booth (929) or you might find yourself taking a detour to the mtvU Booth (213) where you can pick up a ticket to ride the mechanical bull! Only after checking out these booths will you finally remember that you’re in the Expo Hall to engage with the many vendors eager to show off the latest and greatest in equipment, technology, and facility support solutions.
But even as you make your way up and down the Expo Hall aisles listening to vendors anxious to talk, you’ll realize this is your chance to work up a sweat at the Fitness Forum presented by Les Mills, so off you go again to take part in yet another fun activity! While the Expo Hall closes at 9:00pm that evening, it will open again the next day at 9:00am.
The morning of Wednesday, April 1, we’ll welcome you back with fresh brewed coffee sponsored by Sasaki Associates—so grab your cup and continue where you left off the night before. Was that on Aisle 1200 at the NIRSA Foundation Hoop Shoot? Or was that at the Fitness Forum on Aisle 100? No matter where you end up, don’t forget the T-shirt Exchange taking place at 12:15pm!
Finally, before you grab your ice cream sundae at the 2:00pm Ice Cream Social, make sure you’ve stopped by the NIRSA booth to enter to win a Spinner® NXT Black Belt donated by Star Trac. Star Trac will deliver and set up your bike so don’t worry about getting it home on the plane. The drawing will take place at 2:45pm, shortly before the Expo Hall closes at 3:00pm.
