As NIRSA continues to enact and engage its six strategic values, we continually seek new ways to support members in their mission to impart these values to the communities they serve.
In this vein, NIRSA is proud to acknowledge that Matrix will continue as a sustainability partner for our Association.
Matrix has supported NIRSA in numerous ways in the past—most recently as a Facilities Institute sponsor, a part of 2013’s NIRSA Triventure.
However, this line of support will allow Matrix to focus their corporate partnership on helping NIRSA pursue sustainable initiatives and practices.
This collaboration is a natural fit over a shared value. Matrix Fitness recently released their Sustainability Report utilizing the Global Reporting Initiative reporting framework. “This report puts us at the forefront of not just fitness companies, but the greater sustainable business community,” says Marc Loomer, Matrix’s University/College Manager. “Our support and enthusiasm for sustainability has never been greater.”
NIRSA members will soon get to see direct benefits from this partnership as Matrix is again sponsoring the app at the 2014 Annual Conference & Expo, April 23-26, in Nashville. This app at NIRSA 2013, powered by Guidebook, was a huge hit, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring this kind of technology on to Music City! Attendees can use the app on their smartphones, tablets, and the like to keep the most needed content—like educational session schedules, speaker line-ups, socials details, and maps—at their fingertips.
As “a supporter of NIRSA for over 10 years,” Marc says Matrix is very excited to help bring the app to NIRSA 2014. It’s “a huge step in the right direction,” he says.
Though the traditional paper programs and flyers will still be available, having a powerful app will allow us to begin moving toward a reduced amount of printed materials, thus also cutting back on overflow and unnecessary waste. It’s just one more way we’re “harmonizing our values” this April in Nashville!
