National Flag Football registration opens October 6 for the NIRSA Championship Series

It is with great excitement that we start another season that is sure to be filled with great fun, competition and development for all students and professionals involved.

The return of many great regional hosts, along with the addition of some new host schools, to the NIRSA Championship Series will provide ample opportunities to those who wish to become involved or continue their involvement in the sport of flag football.

Get your team together and be prepared to sign up beginning on October 6 for the NIRSA Championship Series!

With a total of twelve sites, teams will have many options between the month of October and January to participate. The first regional flag football tournaments will take place on October 18-20 at the University of Florida and on October 25-27 at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Arkansas. Encourage your teams to play this year’s regional flag football tournaments.

The culmination of these great regional opportunities is the NIRSA Championship Series National Flag Football Championships hosted by the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL from January 3-5, 2014. Registration will open on October 6 at IMLeagues.com/NIRSA, and all collegiate teams are invited to join us for what is sure to be a very competitive quest for a National Championship in the Men’s, Women’s, and Co-Rec divisions.

Teams do not have to be a Regional Champion in order to compete in the National Championships. Team captains need only to pay the registration fee ($400) and provide contact information through the registration site. Once registered, the National Championships staff will contact the captain with additional tournament information.

This year’s National Flag Football Championships will also provide an Open division that is open to any flag football team and is sure to showcase some of the country’s greatest Open teams! Open play will be on January 4 and 5.
