As the leader in collegiate recreation, NIRSA wants to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to current trends.

After a careful review of all of the great topics shared by members for the Collegiate Recreation Trends Research Project powered by Precor, Employee Wellness is the trend selected by the NIRSA Board of Directors and the Assembly.

A special thank you to all NIRSA members who submitted ideas for this project!

With support from NIRSA Diamond Partner Precor, NIRSA will be extensively researching employee wellness.

With support from NIRSA Diamond Partner Precor, the Association will now begin to investigate Employee Wellness programs. The methodology for this project will include a literature review of corporate wellness programs that relate to a higher education setting coupled with in-depth analysis of campuses that have made advancements with campus-wide employee wellness programs. NIRSA will then publish a white-paper that will provide in-depth analysis to track national trends in collegiate recreation and expand the resources that add value to our membership. The results will also be presented at the 2014 NIRSA Annual Conference in Nashville, TN.

Now that our topic has been chosen, we’d like to call on our NIRSA community to help as we enter the stage of data and information collection. Has your campus made significant advancements in the area of Employee Wellness that you would like to share with the research team working on this project? Please email Kendra Hall with more specifics on the program. Don’t miss your chance to contribute to the latest collegiate recreation research—after all, we can’t paint the whole picture if you’re not in it!
