NIRSA Foundation thanks NIRSA institutional members and Life Fitness

Through fundraising and stewardship efforts, the NIRSA Foundation strives to provide collegiate recreation professionals with opportunities for NIRSA research endeavors, professional development, scholarships and educational resources.

The Foundation is fortunate to have dedicated Corporate Partners who provide year-round support that helps us advance our goals.

These partners have a direct and positive impact on the future of the collegiate recreation profession and the lives of college students.

This summer, Foundation Corporate Contributor and associate member, Life Fitness, made a special offer to donate a percentage of Discover Cardio equipment sales to the NIRSA Foundation. The Foundation is excited to report that 48 NIRSA institutional members purchased Discover Cardio equipment, thus making a donation of over $30,000 through this special program. This generous gift helps the Foundation enact its tagline of “Supporting today. Ensuring tomorrow.”

Through fundraising and stewardship efforts, the NIRSA Foundation strives to provide collegiate recreation professionals with opportunities for NIRSA research endeavors, professional development, scholarships and educational resources.

The complementary missions of NIRSA and Life Fitness make collaborations like this a natural fit for both organizations. “NIRSA and NIRSA members have the unique ability to shape young adults views on fitness,” says Tim Moran, Manager of Education and Athletic Sales for Life Fitness. “This is important to Life Fitness and our goal of helping people live healthier lives.”

“Students today demand technology in every aspect of their life,” Tim says. “That demand continues when they walk into their collegiate recreation center. This initiative [with the Foundation] gave Life Fitness the ability to promote the most technologically advanced cardio line in the world while giving back to an organization that supports those students and collegiate recreation leaders who serve them.”
