"This has been an awesome (and fast) year of learning, leading, and moving our great association forward," says 2018-2019 NIRSA President Ken Morton as he reflects on his term on the NIRSA Board of Directors.
The NIRSA Annual Conference for 2019 is over and it’s time to get back to doing what we do day in and day out: supporting a health and wellbeing revolution by serving our students and campus communities.
This fall, the NIRSA and NACA boards of directors established a joint task force to conduct an initial scan of the current and desired state of esports on college campuses.
Maybe it’s the Thanksgiving holiday and maybe because it’s NIRSA Awards season, but I find the fall a great time each year to reflect on the many privileges and blessings that make my life fulfilling.
Each new school year brings new energy, new people, new problems, and hopefully lots of new ideas. An ability to see a bigger picture can be motivating and offer an object of focus and a source of energy.
Whatever you do this summer, make sure you and those you care about find a way to disconnect from work and spend quality time doing something that refreshes your soul. Your wellbeing depends on it!
NIRSA President Ken Morton encourages you to not let opportunity pass you by this summer. Relax. Reflect. Renew! And recognize that wellbeing is not a destination; it is a journey.
