This past Valentine’s Day week, students at the University of Arkansas had the opportunity to participate in a variety of healthy and mindful activities designed to remind everyone in the UA community to love and take care of themselves. Love Yourself Week—an initiative which promotes self-love, self-care, and self-empowerment on campus—was celebrated on the University of Arkansas campus from February 13-17. Arkansas State Student Leader Shaina Hayutin was the driving force behind a short-form video that was released to campus as part of the celebration. Shaina and the UREC Marketing Team developed the following video, which was filmed and edited by student videographer Ryan Stackable:

“Love Yourself Week supports the wellness initiative that UREC is developing to educate and create an awareness among our students, faculty, and staff regarding the need to provide for one’s own wellbeing,” said Jeremy Battjes, Director of University Recreation. “This week not only demonstrates a commitment to UREC’s initiatives, but aligns with the strategic positioning within NIRSA.”

The video complemented an exciting slate of other activities including interactive tabling events and special group fitness classes. You can see the details of the full week on the special events page of the University of Arkansas’ UREC website.
