March 3-6, NIRSA student members cast their votes for the NIRSA Student Leader and Regional Student Leaders who will comprise the Member Network’s Student Leadership Team; all eligible NIRSA members were also invited to vote on three proposed amendments to NIRSA’s bylaws.
When candidate slates were finalized and announced in mid-February, there was not a candidate for the Region I Student Leader. However, since that time, an application was received and the Member Network voted to approve the candidate. Therefore, NIRSA is proud to announce a complete roster for the 2026-2027 Student Leadership Team:
NIRSA Student Leader
Bryce Baker, Butler University
Region I Student Leader
Nicholas Liu, Rowan University
Region II Student Leader
Keegan Sheffler, West Virginia University
Region III Student Leader
Sarah Messing, Bowling Green State University
Region IV Student Leader
Alison Stapp, University of North Texas
Region V Student Leader
Lisca de Jager, University of Colorado Boulder
Region VI Student Leader
Bailey Crone, University of Nevada Las Vegas
Canadian Student Leader
Simran Lally, University of the Fraser Valley
We look forward to working with these dedicated, talented individuals. We appreciate their willingness to serve as representatives of the Association and know that they will make significant contributions on behalf of NIRSA students.
Members vote to amend NIRSA bylaws
In addition to the Student Leadership Team positions, all NIRSA members had the ability to vote on three amendments to NIRSA’s bylaws which were proposed by the Governance Review Steering Committee.
All three of the proposed amendments were ratified and will be incorporated into NIRSA’s bylaws. The changes affect how the NIRSA Nominations and Appointments Committee is constituted and how this group can fulfill their charges.
Thank you to all the members who voted in the March 2026 elections. We appreciate you for making your voice heard and for your help in shaping NIRSA’s future!
