Available to individuals presently employed and directly associated in the administration of recreation, intramural, and/or wellness programs, or employed within a higher education setting. Current Professional Members who retire may maintain their Professional Membership.
Individual members who are on staff of an institutional member school are considered Premier Members and receive the deepest discounts on NIRSA Learning products and resources.

Retired Membership: Complimentary membership available to former Professional Members that have formally terminated regular professional employment through retirement. Continuation or resumption of employment in a part-time or non-continuing basis following retirement shall not affect eligibility for retired membership status. Limited membership benefits. Emeritus Membership: Available to retired or retiring members with at least 10 years of professional membership, life membership, or honorary membership in the Association who meet certain criteria. Apply for Emeritus membership. For more information, please contact us.

Available to any institution administering or considering offering a recreation, intramural, and/or wellness program. Institutional members shall include colleges, universities, military installations, correctional institutions, and municipal recreation and parks departments.
Individual members who are on staff of an institutional member organization are considered Premier Members and receive the deepest discounts on NIRSA Learning products and resources.

Institutional dues for higher education entities are based on enrollment, which for US institutions is pulled from The National Center of Educational Statistics based on your institutional IPEDS number, and for international institutions is pulled from official enrollment reports released from each institution.

Non-Higher Education Entities
Institutional dues for non-higher-education entities are based on community served, which is the total of all individuals (students, staff, community members, etc.) eligible to use recreation facilities/programs offered by the institution. Non-Higher Education Entities can include but are not limited to correctional facilities, military, nonprofit, parks and recreation, and YWCA/YMCA/JCC.

Institutional Prepay Program
Institutions with unused end-of-year funds for professional development can make an investment at the end of the current budget cycle for future training expenses. The NIRSA Institutional Prepay Program allows for the purchase of vouchers for any denomination (greater than $200) to use as credit in your professional or institutional account. NIRSA vouchers can be redeemed for annual conferences, institutes or webinar registrations, and dues.
Associate Member
Available to commercial organizations, companies, or groups who provide products or services of value to the NIRSA membership.
