About the NIRSA Recreation Facilities Institute
For 35 years, NIRSA’s Recreation Facilities Institute has been providing in-depth information on planning, constructing, renovating, and operating recreation sports facilities.

Presentation Proposals
Presentation proposals are now being accepted for two dedicated campus recreation tracks:
- Facility Operations, Risk Management & Security
- Facility Planning & Design – College Recreation
We’re looking for engaging presenters and facilitators who can share practical solutions, emerging trends, and actionable takeaways that help facilities professionals solve real challenges.
Sessions will be 60 minutes. Presenters will receive a complimentary conference registration and hotel nights on presentation days.
The deadline to apply has been extended through Friday, March 20, 2026. Speakers will be notified of their selection status in mid-April.
Scholarships
The NIRSA Foundation is offering one professional scholarship to cover registration for the 2026 NIRSA Recreation Facilities Institute. NIRSA membership is required to be eligible for a scholarship.
Scholarship application will close on Monday, March 30, 2026. Applicants will be notified of their status by early May.
Program
In addition to the top-notch educational sessions, pressure-free networking, and exciting expo hall, facility tours of some of the area’s top recreational facilities complement the program.
