Caucuses provide space for individuals with shared experiences or identities to connect, reflect, and learn together. NIRSA offers these spaces to support community-building, foster mentorship and networking, and encourage the sharing of knowledge and resources shaped by lived experience.
This caucus is a part of NIRSA’s commitment to engaging in conversation and organizing action. Conversation will embrace vulnerability and authenticity. It is intended as a space for the Latinx community to come together.
This month’s conversation will focus on “Mental Health & Well-being in Campus Recreation.” Facilitated by Ivana Danes and Alejandro Herrera, discussion will cover the unique challenges Latinx students and staff may face and ways to integrate wellness into programs. The conversation will also include Semana Santa (Holy Week) traditions and exploring how cultural practices impact wellbeing and community support.
If you have an idea or would like to facilitate a future caucus, please email Elishea Borin, Executive Office and Operations Manager.
