It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and how you can control the use of them. This Cookie Notice supplements our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). Capitalized terms not defined in this Cookie Notice have the meaning set forth in our Privacy Policy or our Terms.

By indicating your consent to the Terms, Policy, or Cookie Notice, you expressly consent to the information handling practices described in this Cookie Notice, including the deployment of cookies, pixels, and similar third-party tracking technologies for the purposes described herein. You acknowledge and confirm that you have permission to provide us with all personal information provided. If you do not agree with this Cookie Notice or our terms, you are prohibited from accessing, using, or registering for an account on, the Services.

2. What are cookies and other tracking technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on browsers, computers, and other devices to hold data. Web beacons, tags, pixels, embedded scripts, and other tracking technologies download pieces of code (typically a one-pixel tag or clear GIF) to remember information about website users and usage. Cookies and other tracking technologies are commonly used to identify users, remember their preferences, track their browsing activities, perform analytics on the use of our Services, and enable targeted advertising based on their online behavior. Other tracking technologies and cookies are collectively referred to in this Cookie Notice as “Cookies.”

Cookies may be operated and set by us (“first-party Cookies”) or by our third-party business partners, such as social media networks, advertising networks, and content providers (“third-party Cookies”). Cookies can be set for the duration of a single visit through a “session Cookie” (in which case they are deleted after that visit) or to remain on your device as a “persistent Cookie.”

3. Why do we use cookies?

We use the types of first-party and third-party Cookies described in the sections below. Our reasons for using each type of Cookie are addressed in each section.

a. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These Cookies are necessary for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in to member portals, filling in forms, or event registrations. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these Cookies, but that will cause some parts of the Site to not work. These Cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

b. Performance & Analytics Cookies

These Cookies (we use Google Analytics) allow us to carry out statistical analysis of page use, interactions, and paths a user takes through the Site to improve the performance of our Site. This is known as ‘digital analytics,’ where this information allows us to know what content on our Site is the most and least popular, as well as allowing us to know how our users move around and interact with our Site overall. The data collected through these Cookies is not associated by us with any individual person.

You may install a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on by going here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

c. Marketing & Advertising Cookies

We also use a marketing database management program that deploys a Cookie when a user interacts with marketing communications, such as a marketing email or a marketing-based landing page on our Site. These Cookies collect personal information such as your name, which pages you visit on our Site, how you arrived at our Site, and your purchases from us. Collected information is used to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

We also use marketing and advertising Cookies to personalize our Services and content when you visit the Site, and ensure a quality, consistent, and efficient experience for our users; analyze your usage of our Services and interactions with content, including emails; and to deliver and measure advertising.

d. Functional Cookies

These Cookies allow us to remember choices that you’ve made about our Services, such as remembering your login details, language preferences, and similar. The purpose of these Cookies is to enable you to use specific functions of our Site or Services. This token does store some personal information to be able to identify an authenticated user and allows the user to access certain members-only content.

e. Third-Party Website Cookies

When using our Site, you may be directed to other websites for such activities as job applications, and to view content hosted on those sites such as an embedded video or news article. These websites may use their own cookies. We do not have control over the placement of cookies by other websites you visit, even if you are directed to them from our website.

4. How you can control the use of Cookies

a. Using your browser

You can disable many Cookies through your browser. To disable Cookies through your browser, follow the instructions usually located within the “Help,” “Tools” or “Edit” menus in your browser. Please note that disabling a Cookie or category of Cookies does not delete previously set Cookies from your browser unless manually completed through your browser function.

b. Information collected before preference changes

If you elect to clear your cookies, note that we may still retain and process certain information collected prior to the preference change. However, the disabled Cookie will not be used to collect any further information from your user experience. For certain Cookies, when a user opts out of tracking, a new Cookie is placed to prevent the user from being tracked.
