Honor the Past. Support the Future.

On NIRSA’s Founders Day of Giving we remember the vision set in motion by Dr. William Wasson and his esteemed colleagues during the first NIRSA Conference in 1950. We invite NIRSA members to honor that legacy by donating to the NIRSA Foundation to support the future of collegiate recreation.

Donations for 2026 will be matched up to $5,000!

Thank you to CENTERS, Moody Nolan, and NIRSA’s Anonymous Donor Circle for providing a $5,000 match for 2026 Founders Day donations!

Celebrate Campus Recreation

Celebrated every February 22, NIRSA Recreational Sports & Fitness Day—also known as Rec Day—began in 1999 to mark the 50th anniversary of NIRSA. What started as NIRSA Day has grown into a day for colleges, companies, and associations across North America to bring the mission of NIRSA to life and pay tribute to its rich history.
