It’s in the midst of this August chaos that I take time to celebrate the small things that help me through my days. I call them “pockets of joy” in my life.
This year, the Student Leadership Team is excited to embark on new adventures, continue to advocate for all students, and finally see each other in person in Portland!
As we enter a year of resurgence, we’re fortunate to have a fearless, dynamic, and forward-thinking captain in Ashley Lax. I am proud to call her a colleague, NIRSA confidant, and friend.

Fighters, all of us, wear battle scars to show where we have been. It is ok to do a little dance halfway up the mountain. It’s okay to take a rest and heal.
