The 25th Annual NIRSA National Soccer Championship is approaching fast and the NIRSA Championship Series Committee is thrilled to once again extend an officiating opportunity to NIRSA members who are NISOA certified.
As part the Association’s ongoing partnership with Special Olympics, four NIRSA student officials were selected to take part in officiating Flag Football at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games.
It was close, but when the final whistle blew on April 25, Team Flag Football had held onto their lead in the friendly ZOOM Match Challenge Initiative against Team Basketball.

2018 marks the first year NIRSA National Championship Soccer will accept applications for the Director of Officials position with the National Soccer Tournament. Qualified members can apply by April 16.
Beginning Spring 2018, the Spring Soccer Pilot Program will begin with one host school, the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. The tournament will have the main goal of incorporating student officials.
Between January 3 and April 25, ZOOOM will match up to $2,000 in gifts made to the Student Officials Development Campaign, one of the NIRSA Foundation’s four fields of interest.
Paul Wilson, retired director of intramural rec sports at the University of Oklahoma, has deep roots with NIRSA and has been curating Association history as NIRSA Historian since 2003.
