Thursday, February 23 has been designated “Canada Day” at NIRSA 2017 and to commemorate the occasion, Canada-specific educational sessions, a Canadian leadership summit, and a Canadian Celebration Social will all take place at NIRSA 2017.
The 2016–2017 year marks the 100th anniversary of the Division of Recreational Sports at the University of Texas at Austin. A year-long celebration will culminate this spring .
NIRSA's 2017 elections successfully came to a close on January 30. Proposed amendments to NIRSA’s Bylaws passed overwhelmingly by member vote.
In 1916, formalized intramural programming at Oregon State University started. 2016 marked 100 years of collegiate recreation for OSU.

NIRSA membership votes annually to fill positions on the NIRSA Board of Directors and the Member Network as well as on any proposed amendments to NIRSA’s Bylaws. The 2017 Elections will launch on January 18.
