I have been attending the NIRSA tradeshow for over 20 years and although there have been many moments that have been memorable I have to say my best moment was last year, 2014, in Nashville, TN. Last year we presented our first year award winners of the Star Trac Stipend Scholarship. This award done through the Foundation Board provided professionals the opportunity to come experience all of the great things that NIRSA has to offer that had either never been or had not been in several years. What a great connecting moment on several levels.

It’s like surfing on a sea of smiles. I’ve been going to fitness expos for years. The combination of desperate vendors, nervous members, and impossible promises typically leaves me drowning in disappointment. NIRSA is different. It’s about relationships, connections, and building a global community. It’s proof that fitness can be fun.
