Award-winning inspirational speaker Hoan Do empowers people to overcome their adversities by sharing practical strategies to develop resilience and mental strength. He is the author of the much-lauded Succeeding in the Real World and was a city finalist on NBC’s hit show American Ninja Warrior. NIRSA is so lucky to have him on the 2022 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo main stage on March 30!

Hoan is the child of Vietnamese immigrants, and he has always placed a tremendous amount of pressure on himself to succeed. As a student at Pepperdine University—overwhelmed by the stresses of demanding classes, extracurricular responsibilities, and the pressure of making important life decisions—his self-esteem reached an all-time low and he even contemplated suicide. But Hoan refused to settle and give up on life. His college experiences were a turning point, ultimately revealing to him the practical skills necessary to succeed in school and in life.

Hoan travels the world sharing messages of hope and inspiration. Through partnering with organizations, colleges, and schools, his practical strategies have impacted over 250,000 professionals and students worldwide.

We are so excited for NIRSA members to attend his mainstage session “Overcoming Adversities: Practical Strategies to Developing Resilience and Mental Strength,” which will take place at NIRSA 2022 in Portland, Oregon on March 30 from 8:30am–9:30am. This is going to be a session you won’t want to miss!
