Organized intramural sports and games continue to be an important arrow in the quiver of most campus rec department’s programs and services. But navigating the staffing and programming challenges associated with intramural offerings in a post-pandemic world, hasn’t revealed an easy, one-size-fits-all approach to success.

So, come discover solutions to challenges and connect with network of peers this summer at NIRSA’s Intramural Sports Virtual Institute.

Join intramural colleagues June 28-29

The two-day, live, online program will feature panel discussions from celebrated thought leaders and intramural programmers. Attendees will be able to brainstorm ideas or continue off-topic conversations through breakout rooms. The back-to-back, half-day format is designed to help allow participants to balance this virtual learning experience with other professional obligations.

Focused discussion sessions will complement the panel discussions. These focused discussions will also feature content experts and give participants an opportunity to review recent trends and share promising practices. “NIRSA is the professional home for collegiate intramural sports practitioners. The NIRSA Intramural Sports Virtual Institute will allow old and new intramural sports professionals a space to collaborate, share our collective knowledge, and develop strategies that push our programs and the field forward,” says David Peters, Senior Associate Director of Campus Recreation at Florida State University.

This is your team’s chance to dive into topics like sports officials’ development; rebuilding a student staff team; offering and operating pay-to-play models; and promising nontraditional events. With the schedule concentrating one day on intramural programming and one day on intramural staffing, you’re sure to meet new people and discover new ideas to inspire and improve your offerings in the next academic year.
