Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a NIRSA Championship Series Committee volunteer or what volunteer positions for the NIRSA Championship Series open each year for members? For some, it’s the comradery. For others, it’s the invaluable experience of helping put on some of the nation’s leading intramural and sport club sports tournaments for college and university recreational athletes. Whatever the reason for your interest, members of the NIRSA Championship Series Committee’s Executive Work Team would like to cordially invite you to join them at 2:00pm Eastern on Friday, December 11 for a General Information Session about serving on the Series Committee or one of the Series’ 12 work teams and task forces.

Register for the December 11 session

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of the NIRSA Championship Series’ commitment to providing experiential learning through sport. This session will be facilitated by Ashley Lax, Assistant Director of Sport Programs at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and Vice Chair of the NIRSA Championship Series Committee.

“We are excited for the opportunity to offer the Series Volunteer Info Session to further one of our Series 2.0 Priorities: to educate members for volunteer opportunities,” says Ashley. “There are many ways to get involved and volunteer with the Series, and these opportunities can sometimes be confusing or overwhelming for those new to volunteering with the Series. The Volunteer Info Session is a way for us to better educate interested members in all of the ways they can use their leadership and experience to contribute to the Series.”

Ashley adds, “We have a couple of new leadership positions, like the work team vice chair position, and we want to make sure members know how awesome these roles are. If you are a professional new to volunteering within the Series, or you want to take your volunteerism to the next level by considering a leadership role, this info session is for you!”

Registration for this session is free to NIRSA members and registrants will be sent a link to the recording shortly after the live call.
