About the NIRSA Foundation

The NIRSA Foundation, through fundraising and stewardship efforts, works in cooperation with NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation to enhance the effectiveness of collegiate recreational sports by providing its members meaningful opportunities for scholarship, research, and personal and professional development.

“The Foundation is excited to be able to support Career Week for all student members,” says Lexi Chaput, Senior Assistant Director at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and NIRSA Foundation President-Elect. “As we thought about supporting and engaging our student members in ways that would fill the void of the Annual Conference, we saw NIRSA’s Career Week as an opportunity to engage them despite the loss of the Career Services Center in 2020. When we determined that the NIRSA Foundation could provide this opportunity for all student members without any out of pocket cost, we felt that it was the best way to reallocate our scholarship funds in an especially impactful way.”

In addition to the NIRSA Foundation Scholarship Endowment, the following funds have contributed support for student members who want to attend NIRSA’s Career Week this fall:

  • 2019 Student Leadership Team
  • William Wasson Endowment
  • Region V Endowment
  • Jennifer R. de-Vries Endowment
  • Max and Sonia Gartenberg Endowment
  • Region IV Endowment
  • Salado-Texas Endowment
  • Region I Endowment
  • Frederick R. Braden Scholarship for Social Justice in Collegiate Recreation
  • Fletcher/Leonida/Region II Scholarship Endowment
  • IIRSA Endowment
