In the midst of trying times—I sincerely hope everyone is being safe out there—I’m fortunate to come bearing some great news: The 2021 Emerging Recreational Sports Leaders Conference will be held in a virtual capacity February 1–19! The program committee will be accepting presentation proposals for the conference—which is themed “Facing the Future – Together!”—until Friday, November 20. Please consider this opportunity to present at the 29th ERSL Conference!

“While our lives look very different than this time last year, we’re excited to still bring our ERSL family together virtually!,” says Candice Douglas, Assistant Director – Facilities at Western Kentucky University and ERSL Program Committee Co-Chair. “This format will allow us to bring in targeted speakers and address the pressing issues of today. We can’t wait to see you there!”

The 2021 ERSL Conference will focus on the promising future minority students and young professionals in the field of collegiate recreation have as to-be leaders. The event will also highlight other social justice themes based on our current climate where protests against police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement are both prominent and ongoing. This online event will feature approximately three live webinars, ten on-demand webinars, mock interviews, and resume reviews. While the event will unfold over the course of a couple weeks in February, sessions from the conference will be made available until Friday, April 2.

The success of this event depends on you

The 2021 Emerging Recreational Sports Leaders Conference is depending on members choosing to contribute by both registering for the event and submitting presentation proposals. I know I speak for the entire program committee when I say that I hope you will consider joining us.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic chance to share your knowledge! Interested individuals have until Friday, November 20 to submit their proposals. All submissions can be done through the proposal submission form.
