NIRSA is excited to be featured in an upcoming episode of Higher Ed Live focused on integrated wellbeing. Mark your calendars for January 17 from 1:00pm-2:00pm EST.

Higher Ed Live describes itself as providing live, weekly content around “the most important issues in the industry,” and is well known for fostering knowledge sharing. It strives to be a trusted source of information for higher education professionals around the globe.

After the publication of NIRSA Executive Director Pam Watts’ feature article—and cover story—in the Fall 2017 issue of NASPA’s Leadership Exchange magazine, titled “A New Model for Campus Health: Integrating Wellbeing into Campus Life,” Higher Ed Live invited NIRSA to participate in an episode on this critical topic area.

Pam’s article speaks to the importance of wellbeing for campus communities and highlights recreation’s role in leading that charge. These issues will be expounded on during the Higher Ed Live episode, which will feature several NIRSA representatives, including Pam Watts and Dr. George Brown, Director of University Recreation and Wellness at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Watch the health & wellbeing page of the NIRSA news for more detailed information as the episode date gets closer.

Higher Ed Live aims its content at a broad mix of student affairs professionals, and student affairs divisions frequently host listening and discussion sessions. As this topic is cross-cutting for all, consider using it in a winter term campus recreation staff training or bringing it to a larger division meeting to talk about ways recreation is leading and collaborating across campus to truly integrate holistic wellbeing into the campus culture.
