The 2016 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo is taking place in Kissimmee, FL from April 3–6. And on the afternoon of Monday, April 4, you are invited to join NIRSA President Stan Shingles, Assistant Vice President at Central Michigan University, for a re-envisioned Annual Meeting of Members! In addition to award recognitions and leadership reports, for the first time there will also be an educational and interactive panel presentation.

Dr. Patricia A. Whitely, Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Miami and past Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education (NASPA) President, will offer comments on issues affecting student affairs and higher education. She will be joined on stage following her remarks by Alex Accetta, Executive Director of Campus Recreation and Student Union Services at Portland State University, and Mila Padgett, Director of Campus Recreation & Wellness and an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina Aiken, for further discussion of the issues. These three higher-education professionals will bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the conversation.

The panel will be moderated by Stan Shingles who will direct questions to the panelists on topics such as moving from recreational sports to health and wellbeing, Title IX, research to support the value of campus recreation, and more. There will be opportunities for questions from the audience as well. So make sure to join us in Osceola C/D at the Gaylord Palms for a new and exciting Annual Meeting of Members at NIRSA 2016!
