The NIRSA Championship Series flag football season has started up once again with 11 regional tournaments happening all across the nation. Several of the regional tournaments took place in October while the remaining will be played in November and December. Following the regional tournaments, the NIRSA National Flag Football Championships will take place in Pensacola, Florida from January 2–4.

The regional tournaments are going smoothly, and so are the arrangements for the National Championships. The staff at the University of West Florida, along with the Flag Football Work Team, are working hard to ensure this tournament is the best one yet.

Bill Healey—Director of Recreation and Sports Services—says,” Here at the University of West Florida we love to host and welcome teams, student officials, and NIRSA members to one of the best destinations in the country. Last year, we saw great success with the national tournament and we are eager for teams across the nation to come and compete again. After all, this tournament is the pinnacle of flag football competition.”

In case you missed it, registration for the National Championships opened online on Monday, October 19, and all collegiate teams are invited to join us on a competitive pursuit for Men’s, Women’s, and Co-Rec National Champions!

For the third year in a row, NIRSA’s National Flag Football Championships will also include an Open Division for non-collegiate teams. Registration for the Men’s, Women’s, and Co-Rec Divisions will close Tuesday, December 9 and Open Division registration is set to close on Thursday, December 31.
