NIRSA and the Association for Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) have just extended their strategic alliance for a further three years. Since 2007, NIRSA and AORE have had a reciprocal agreement designed to foster education and content sharing among outdoor recreation professionals. Both associations are committed to cooperation in expanding education and training opportunities for their respective members who study and work in the field of outdoor recreation and education.

AORE is the premier association in outdoor recreation and education. It provides opportunities for professionals and students in this field to exchange information, promote the preservation and conservation of the natural environment, and address issues common to college, university, community, military, and other not-for-profit outdoor recreation and education programs.

Each association offers the other a number of benefits. These include:

  • Member rates to attend Annual Conferences
  • Being able to submit presentations for consideration at Annual Conferences—though this is subject to program committee approval
  • The opportunity to attend roundtable discussions at Annual Conferences—this is also subject to program committee approval
  • The opportunity to post jobs on Bluefishjobs at member rates

At the 2015 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo, join us for the session “AORE and NIRSA: Onsite Meeting of the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education” to engage in a dialogue regarding the state of the outdoor recreation and education field. The session will include information sharing, insights into the field, and discussion of future actions.

And consider attending the 2015 AORE National Conference, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia from November 18-20! Please contact NIRSA Membership for information about registration discounts.
